In Texas we say “Hats Off” when something exciting happens
OZ Systems (OZ) is honored to be selected as the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (TEHDI) information systems partner for the next three years.
OZ and Texas share a long history of collaboration beginning in 1996 on a joint newborn hearing screening project with the University of Texas at Dallas and the Meadows Foundation, which extended State-wide in 2000. With nearly 400,000 newborns born annually in Texas in 200 plus birthing hospitals, screening every baby’s hearing, and assuring care for babies’ in need is a challenge. This is especially true in a state the size of Texas with large urban centers and numerous rural areas and southern border with Mexico. Dr. Terese Finitzo, OZ Systems CEO promises that “OZ will face these challenges with determination and innovation. Detect and Connect one baby at a time has been our long standing motto.” The OZ Systems team in collaboration with DSHS’s TEHDI team will work to ensure babies in Texas are screened and connected to the hearing health care to which they are entitled.
